Guided Tours

Spooks and Legends Haunted Tours, LLC of Williamsburg offers unique Haunted Tours of Williamsburg's Historic Area.  Experienced guide Bonnie Florek created this unique experience to bring history to life and make it into a fun and interactive evening for all ages.

What makes Spooks and Legends Tours unique is that their stories are told in the first person by costumed 18th Century guides who have "returned" as a character from the past and bring the reality of these tales to life.  All stories have been fully researched and found to be true. This is not the usual history tour with a little ghost story thrown in here and there, but a complete ghost tour. For those of you who want a history tour, they are also available at other times.

We are very happy to be offering two completely different ghost tours, this year, visiting two different parts of town. Our ghostly guides will now be "Catherine Rathell" as well as our newest ghost, "Lady Susannah Randolph". Our many characters will continue to meet you as you travel through the eery streets of historic Williamsburg. ***Each guide and  character are subject to availability.

Samples of some of the stories and homes you will experience on your tour include:

Peyton Randolph House is filled with sadness. Suicides, murders, illness and evil have all been a large part of this house's distant and more recent past. It has been investigated on Unsolved Mysteries and it is said to have 23 spirits which remain in the house, today. Called the most haunted house in Historic Williamsburg, many are too afraid to go near the house, let alone enter its doors.
Ludwell Paradise House was inhabited by one of the most eccentric and mentally ill women of the 18th century. Recent residents report hearing Lucy taking her baths, having had a bath fetish before she was committed to the town's lunatic asylum. She is often seen looking out the window, today.
George Wythe House is still visited by Mr. Wythe, himself, as well as some of his slaves. A frequent "guest" of the house is George Washington after having used it as his headquarters, during the Battle of Yorktown. Of course, Lady Ann Skipwith, the beautiful red head with the hot temper, is a permanent "resident" of the house.
Tours are only $11.00 per person when you book through Williamsburg Vacations and free for children ages 6 and under.  Tours meet in front of the Trellis Restaurant in the Merchant's Square section of the Historic Area and are held on Friday and Saturday Evenings from September through May at 8:00pm and Every Night June through August at 9:00pm.
