Colonial Williamsburg also features a variety of dining options including historical taverns with traditional fare of the time. Less than ten minutes from Williamsburg's historical attractions you will find Virginia's largest winery. The Williamsburg Winery, founded in 1985, is set among 50+ beautiful acres of vineyards and offers tours and tastings daily throughout the year. Although Virginia boasts nearly 100 wineries, a quarter of all wine produced in the state comes from Williamsburg. The Williamsburg Winery and its vintages are highly awarded having been named among "The Best Wines in the World" by the Decanter World Wine Awards of London. The most popular wine, "The Governor's White" was awarded a Gold Medal within two weeks of its release in 1988. Adding to their uniqueness and paying homage to the area's rich history, most of the wines made at the Williamsburg Winery feature historical references on the back of each bottle.

Outdoor Parks and RecreationWilliamsburg is filled with a number of parks and outdoor recreation Chickahominy Riverfront Park: This 140 acre park is located along the banks of the Chickahominy River and includes camping, fishing, and boating including motor boat rentals. Colonial Parkway: Operated by the National Park Service the Colonial Parkway is a scenic drive connecting Jamestown, Williamsburg and Yorktown on a winding drive along the James and York rivers. A favorite for afternoon drives or bike rides, or stop off at one of the beaches for some sun and fishing. New Quarter Park: Located next to the Colonial Parkway this treasure offers a tranquil, wooded setting for mountain biking, hiking, fishing and picnicking. Rentals not available.
